I’ve gone through to set up the blog but no matter what format I choose for the Main Page of the blog (standard or grid) instead of seeing the featured image I’m just getting code like this:

    <div class=”nv-skin mediawrap “alignleft” ” style=”max-width:”1050″px”><div class=”container “><div class=”gridimg-wrap “><div class=”title-wrap “></div></div></div></div>

I can’t imagine that I’d have to “turn on” some setting to make such a basic feature work but if that’s the case I’m not finding it in the documentation.

This also happens at the very top of the single blog page. It shows that code then the title then my post.
Any help would be very, very, VERY welcome as Im trying to get this aspect fixed so I can relaunch my site.
    thanks!

The code I’m getting looks like this:

    [imageeffect type=”none” align=”aligncenter” width=”1050″ alt=”Caitlin + David | Leech Botanical Gardens Portland Engagement” link=”http://www.betholsoncreative.com/blog/caitlin-david-leech-botanical-gardens-portland-engagement/” url=”http://www.betholsoncreative.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Caitlin-David-Leech-Botanical-Garden-Portland-Engagement-Betholsoncreative-37-650×433.jpg” ]

I tried turning off all of my plugins but that didn’t seem to make a difference. I also switched to the actual Epix parent theme instead of the child theme and that didn’t make a difference either.

ha ha ha ha!!! That’s hilarious that the code I typed in actually WORKS on this page….. sigh….

    <divclass=”nv-skin mediawrap “aligncenter”” style=”max-width:”1050″px”><div class=”container”><div class=”gridimg-wrap “><div class=”title-wrap “></div></div></div></div>

I’ve taken out a couple necessary spaces in the code above so you can see the actual code instead of it rendering the photos.

It’s SO STRANGE! When I try to paste in the code here it either renders the photo from my blog or it cuts out a portion of the code (all the href and imgsrc) so you can’t see the whole thing. I thought I already tried using the “CODE” button so that it would just show it but maybe I did it wrong. I’ll try it here again. Sorry for all the edits.

    <divclass="nv-skin mediawrap "aligncenter"" style="max-width:"1050"px"><div class="container"><div class="gridimg-wrap "><div class="title-wrap "><a><img /></a></div></div></div></div>

    Hi Beth,

That’s funny! The best way to show code is to save it in a text file and upload to your WP Media Library.

The issue you’re receiving is due to Visual Composer not being active. You’ll need to activate VC and the issue will be resolved.

Hi Andy thanks! I was having problems with the visual composer not installing but it seems to have magically worked itself out!
    Thanks again
    Cheers
    Beth
