    Hi,

    I need to translate the “read more” link in the recent posts that are shown by the shortcode generater into something german for our german website..

    Where can I find the according lines?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    I installed CodeStyling Localization.

    And I followed the instructions (translated the terms in question and the WPLANG was already on de_DE)

    But it still doesnt display the german text but still “read more”…

    in the code styling plugin is also shown an alert:

    Warnung: Die aktuell verfügbaren Text kommen aus verschiedenen Textdomains und können nicht einheitlich in einer Textdomain übersetzt werden.
    Es scheint so, daß in den Quelldateien Code enthalten ist, der per Copy & Paste aus anderen Plugins, Themes oder Widgets stammt.
    Die betroffenen, unbekannten Textdomains sind: wpsc, wp-pagenavi, hybrid, gallery, dynamix, buddypress, bbpress, NorthVantage, Categories

    it says something like:

    alert: the current available texts come from different text domains and cannot be translated uniformly in one textdomain.

    It seems, that the source files contain code, that comes via copy & paste from other plugins, themes or widgets.

    The affected, unknown textdomains are: wpsc, wp-pagenavi, hybrid, gallery, dynamix, buddypress, bbpress, NorthVantage, Categories

    how can I nevertheless just translate this “read more” to something german?

    Thank you

    Dominic

    Hi Dominic,

    Can you try re-scanning first and then try translating? This is the easiest method to change the read more – the alternative is far more complicated and requires editing a vast amount of files.

    Hi,

    yes, I re-scanned at first.

    (if this is the second button that I marked in this screen:)

    But still no changes in the display of

    “read more”

    Hi Patrick,

    I promise you it can be translated, first I’d recommend updating to the latest version of DynamiX. If that doesn’t work, send me your login details and I’ll try for you.

    Hi,

    I will provide you something that worked for me here.

    If you go into lib/inc/shortcodes.php, around line 3262 you should see this :

    <a href=”<?php the_permalink(); ?>”><?php _e( ‘Read more &rarr;’, ‘DynamiX’ ); ?></a>

    If you replace the “read more” by what you want you’ll see the result immediately.  The &rarr; being the arrow.

    Example (replacing “Read more” by “Plus…”) :

    <a class=”read-more” href=”<?php the_permalink(); ?>”><?php _e( ‘Plus… &rarr;’, ‘DynamiX’ ); ?></a>

    Of course keep a copy of the original shortcodes.php somewhere in case of .
    Hope this helps

    Francis
