Hey Andy, How are you? Well I decided to take a fresh start now that I am more familar with the theme. My intentions are to leave the core of DynamiX as is and use the Child theme. I have the DynamiX theme and the Child theme in wp-content/themes and have activated the Child theme. So far so good. There must be a step I'm missing because applying css rules to the child does nothing to the parent theme. I have done some research and can not figure out why. What I am doing is adding the code you sent for example: (fix for images being hidden)
When I add this to style.css in Child theme is there something required to apply the rule? If you could get me going on this I'll leave you alone. It will be nice to control the css without tearing up your original work. Not to mention learning functions.php without damage. Between Wamp and Dreamweaver I have a decent system going now. Thanks for all your help, this has been a great experience. Bobby C.
Hi Bobby, I'm good thanks – how's it going ?
That should work – a lot of the CSS rules need !important adding to it. I see you've already done that so it should work. The problem sometimes comes when the original CSS has !important aswell. This little fix can go in the core DynamiX as it will be fixed in the next update anyway.
I think in most cases what you're doing will be correct anyway, as with all these things it's not an exact science, trial and error is the way forward… just takes longer.
