    Hi Andy.

I just updated DynamiX on denovati.com, and now none of the column formatting seems to be working. I do a few php file changes via the editor after updating the theme, but none of them should affect the page layout. Here’s an example of the problem: http://denovati.com/website-development-management-services.

I’m hoping this is a simple fix. I’ll wait to hear back from you before updating our other DynamiX-based sites.

    Thanks!

PS – I uninstalled and reinstalled VC and cleared the cache, but the problem persists. I found one other support ticket similar to mine but I couldn’t figure out how to apply the resolution you proposed.

PPS – I turned VC back on via the general settings. You had previously recommended we turn it off due to some formatting issues related to an earlier update. Doing that and clearing the cache again seems to have resolved the columns issue. Now I guess I have to see what it might have broken by turning VC back on…

Strangely, http://denovati.com and http://firstnightstatecollege.com/ seem okay after reenabling standard VC elements, but http://arts-festival.com/ has all kinds of formatting problems. The problems are worse with the standard elements are turned off, however. What can we do to fix what’s broken?

    Hi,

Visual Composer have moved on with a few things now and VC Elements is definitely required.

    What’s issues are you seeing with http://arts-festival.com/ ? Here’s what I see.

See how the Children & Youth tile is higher than the others on the row? I can’t figure out how to get it lined up. I was able to fix everything else on the page, even after replacing the deprecated button element with a Go button, clearing the cache, etc.

I haven’t really checked the other pages, but the others with similar format seem okay except for the vertical spacing issues. The home page is the most heavily visited by far, so getting that one fixed is critical.

    Thanks, Andy.

    Hi Courtney,

It looks like there is styling on the other inner columns and that has produced a padding at the top. If you edit the column to the left of the one in question, you’ll see that it probably has some styling in, like a border. Something within the other columns is different to the last one, if you can replicate the other columns, I believe it will be resolved.

If you can’t find it, please post your WP login details and I’ll be happy to take a look for you.

    Hi Courtney,

I managed to find the difference between them and remove all the styling from the first 3 columns and they all appear to be aligned now. I did this on Saturday, but forgot to reply 😉

Thanks, Andy! Can you tell me what it was, in case the error occurs on another page?

It was the styling on the other columns, it had a border color set, when this is set it automatically adds padding to the column, I removed the border and it matched the end column.

Thanks so much, Andy. I’ll be on the lookout for that if we encounter a similar problem on any other pages.
