My html skills are next to none – apologies.

I have a opening page which I won’t to link to using anchors.
I have a couple of secondary pages and blog and also want these to link to the anchors.

    have a look at:
    http://www.vreal.ly

‘about us’ works from the homepage obviously but not from a different page (which makes sense)

So I thought I would link to http://www.vreal.ly/#who which work if I type into the url bar but not if I add to a menu item?

does the menu not support the # ? Any help would be awesome.

    Hi @kevmoss

Can you please send over your site’s login credentials so we can check this from our end?

    Thanks!

I think this is a bug in Safari 8.0?
I checked on a android phone and it is ok
and chrome which is also ok.

    Any thoughts?

I can do, where do I send it to?

    Hi @kevmoss

You may send the credentials here but make sure you set your reply to private.

    Hi @kevmoss

I have checked and I do see that the issue only happens on Safari, but it works well on Chrome.

We have tested our test site on Safari and the anchor links seem to be working fine, though it is slightly different as your setup.

Before we proceed in troubleshooting this, can you please try to disable all your plugins then retry your anchor links just so we are sure that the issue is not triggered by any of your plugins?

    Thanks!

    Hi @kevmoss

Please disable everything except Visual Composer.

    Hi @kevmoss

As mentioned, you need to disable everything EXCEPT Visual Composer. Can you please give us permission to do the disabling instead so we can personally test this from our end?

    Thanks!

Yes, that is fine for you to disable while testing.

    Thanks

    Hi @kevmoss

We have disabled the plugins and the issue persisted. Checking further, it looks like the issue is on your hosting server triggering a redirect for the anchored URLs, that is why they do not open correctly.

If you want to test, open http://redirectdetective.com and enter and of your anchored URL and you will see that the redirect to the homepage happens. If you want to test further, try to enabled another theme and you will see that the redirect will persist, proving that the issue is on the server and not on the theme.

You can try using redirectdetective.com and test our test site, http://testarea.acoda.com/you/single-page/#demos , and you will see that no redirect happens, but a 404 appears because it is technically not an existing, but only an anchored URL.

Please coordinate with your hosting server’s provider to look into the issue further.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

If I cut and paste http://www.vreal.ly/#who directly into safari then it works and goes to the correct anchor.

If I use redirectdetective.com then I get a 404 (which I think is what you are saying should happen)

I don’t want to change the theme as I’ve spend a huge amount of effort making the content correct for this theme.

    Kev
