We purchased Dynamix around May 2011, and built a really nice website using it (http://www.telecetera.co.uk). WordPress and Dynamix were the latest versions then. About six weeks ago, we got hacked withe the TimThumb vulnerability (http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/issues/detail?id=212). Bad news, took ages to detect and fix, slowed the website down to 40 second load.We have fixed it, we have updated to the latest WordPress and Dynamix [on a local server, using a backup of our live site]. The Dynamix appearance is distorted, we don't know what's broken or how to fix it. It's difficult to explain without screenshots (which I can see no way to attach). We don't want to update the live site until we can get past this issue.
To try and describe it, where we have Company name, spacem Home, Connect, Connect Features etc. tabs, then a rotating image nicely below on http://www.telecetera.co.uk, on the test site we have the tabs behind the company name, CUSTOM SKIN CREATOR over the tab names, and text behind our rotating image.
I would appreciate an email address to forward a couple of screenshots, I suspect the issue is familiar to you.
Sorry to hear you got hacked. Since then I've introduced admin notifcation for updates to the Theme and I try to keep upto date as possible with timthumb.
It sounds like it's loading the default custom skin graphics. Have you uploaded the custom skin you created back then?
There is a much easier method now using the Skin Settings admin page if you want to try that instead of the more difficult method of creating images etc through Photoshop.
How do we identify a custom skin? As I said in the original post, we kept all the databases and data, then updated both WordPress and Dynamix locally? Would those updates have overwritten the original congurations [in the database]?
Please can you advise what we should look for (I am happy to pay for support if necessary)?
Thanks for that, Andy. And thanks for the quick response, which I couldn’t pick up. FYI I created a link (http://support.creativeworkz.co.uk/groups/dynamix-support/forum/) to keep looking back, but you get a Maintenance Mode screen asking you to try again in two hours if you use it directly. Hence I thought there was no support. Maybe something to look at.
Anyway, tried header-a-custom, didn’t work. Copied all %custom% images, and it did. So problem no 1 solved. I still have a cosmetic issue I need you help with, how can I send/post you an image? Lastly, you may remember that you did some mods for us (Sam Pearce, May 2011), and we don’t know whether an upgrade will ‘break’ the mods (we don’t know what they were). Any ideas.
I’ll keep checking the forum, I didn’t /don’t get emails advising of updates.
Very much appreciate your assistance, I really want to get back to a working, Dynamix website.
