I am looking to add an email capture bar with a different color from the main header and some text to prompt users to enter an email and name. I am not looking for a call out or a column widget. Right now I am looking at mail chimp integration, but want to be able to change it later to some other capture page. Is there a quick and simple way to add this as part of the header of each page or in between the header and the body. I want to make sure that whatever I do survives upgrades, etc. Thanks for any help/direction.

    Hi,

I am not 100% sure what you mean by an email capture bar? Do you have a link to a page with an example or a screenshot?

You can add HTML or shortcodes to the HTML Header field within Appearance > Theme Options > Header > Custom Header HTML / Shortcode.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

I think our friend was referring to something like this:

    or so

I am also looking for a way to do this but so far unable to.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

@Themeva: Yes this is close. I found a way to use the revolutions slider, but it is very fragile. I’m looking for a robust way to add the bar across the bottom with both the email and name capture on every page. I have an example of what I am trying to do here.

@Tom: The HTML Header starts the HTML at the top of the Header Section and then moves it to the top right hand corner as the user scrolls down. I am looking for this bar to be located across the bottom of the header (or top of the body/in between the two) and scroll up with the header.

    Thanks.

    Hi Shannon,

I recommend using Revoultion slider for this using the standard theme options to achieve something like this. If you want a coded way of doing this I recommend getting a developer to achieve this for you as it will take a fair bit of work to do as a customization. We recommend using Microlancer for larger customization like this.

    Kind regards,
    Tom
