The GTM plugin v1.0 breaks the Stage Gallery in the Dynamix theme ( http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-bp-gtm-system-gtm-v19-breaks-stage-gallery-on-dynamix-theme?replies=1 ). I am not sure whether this conflict is a result of the recent changes to the Dynamix template (2.8.7 to 2.8.8) or the recent change to the GTM Plugin (1.8.1 to 1.9). I did the upgrades at the same time. It took me a while to recognise the Stage Gallery was broken.
If I turn off the GTM plugin, then the Stage Gallery works.
How do I tell if it is the template or the GTM plugin. How does the WordPress community figure out who is responsible for what?
The Stage Gallery is currently working ( http://www.opennetworksinstitute.org ), but I have turned the GTM plugin off.
There are so many combinations of what it can be – there is no fault unless either is not registering jQuery correctly. DynamiX 100% enqueues and deregisters jQuery correctly.
There is something looking for global.js which maybe causing an issue.
Have you tried disabling all plugins and just having the GTM plugin enabled?
I disabled all plugins.
I activated Buddypress. The stage gallery worked.
I activated GTM ( http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-bp-gtm-system-gtm-v19-breaks-stage-gallery-on-dynamix-theme ). The stage gallery stops working.
I am not sure how to fix this. I guess I can only bring it to the attention of the GTM plugin developer as well. Hopefully, someone in the community can help. After a few months of tweaking, I almost arrived at a web site I was happy with and am keen to fix this.
Can you activate it again and show me the page so I can see what the error is. It's most probably a jQuery conflict. In 2.8.8 I added an extra option to de-queue the jQuery calendar script, that may resolve the issue but unless I can see them switched on at the same time (and just those plugins) I won't be able to see what the conflict is.
I have enabled GTM … Thank you … let me know if admin access would help.
The GTM plugin can be viewed at http://www.opennetworksinstitute.org/groups/general/gtm/
The URL is working again. I needed to shift the web site. You must have tried looking at it when I was migrating it.
It is working. The stage gallery is on the home page. I am very keen to get this going again. I appreciate your help. It is a showcase element I am keen to use.
Hi Andy! Thanks for your help, but I think it is the GTM plugin.
I haven't been able to fix the Dynamix gallery that I referred to previously.
I purchased two (uBillboard and SliderPro) sliders in an effort to get a working slider/gallery on the home page. Unfortunately, neither of these work either when the GTM plugin is activated.
When GTM is activated, the Dynamix gallery doesn't scroll, SliderPro does not appear and UBillboard appears but is scrambled.
When I disable the GTM plugin, all three work. I have set up a demo page athttp://www.opennetworksinstitute.org/home/sliders .
If GTM is affected three plugins, does not that mean that the conflict is in GTM … or could the problem be elsewhere. I would really appreciate some help. GTM is such a great plugin and I am keen to keep using it.
I have provided this information to the GTM developer at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-bp-gtm-system-gtm-v19-breaks-stage-gallery-on-dynamix-theme?replies=2
I'll wait for the GTM developer to respond.
