    Hello,

When my site was built for me, I had the guy insert my first blog post.  When I have added subsequent blog posts, I can’t figure out how to have an image show up on my blog ‘page’.  I have my image in the blog post…no problem.  It just doesn’t show on the page that lists all of the blog posts.

How do I get an image to show up here?  (See attached)

    Thanks for the help!

    Cheers,

    Hi Dave,

You’re using excerpt which counts X amount of characters – if the image is within that count it will show the image, hence why it shows on some and not others. You can set the Blog Settings to display the image + excerpt but it will display the images on top of the text and not within it.

You would also then have to control the Settings -> Excerpt to not display normal images within the content by disabling the <img> tag.

With the first blog post the guy did for me, he inserted the pic into the post.

The ones I have done I have used a short code….how does that play into this?

    Cheers,

Ok, by default short codes are excluded from the excerpt – you can enable via Settings -> Excerpt -> Uncheck “Remove shortcodes from the excerpt”

Thanks…I have performed the above and re-checked the page (after a refresh) and still no image.  Do I need to remove the short code and re-enter it?

No, that should do it – unless the image is too far down in the code that excerpt doesn’t pick it up…
