Hi all,

The images for my blog posts are insisting to display at a height of 300 pixels even though in Blog settings I have:

    Archive/Index Post Configuration

    – post view type set to nornal

    – post content set to excerpt+first image/custom image

    Archive Index Page Image configuration

    – image behavior set to normal

    – image effect set to none

    – image height and width left blank

    Single Post Image configuration

    – image behavior set to normal

    – image effect set to none

    – image height and width left blank

    in General Settings I have:

    – Timthumb image rezising script set to DISABLE

Strangely, the image does not resize on the individual blog post page.

You can see this at http://ohms.ranchochase.com

Can someone tell me what setting I am not configuring properly? Thanks!

    Hi Glenn,

If you set the Timthumb to disable, you have to resize the images to the exact sizes. Timthumb resizes, disabling it, is designed for people who want to manually resize their images to increase load time.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your prompt reply. The original image size is 300 x 111 pixels

    http://ohms.ranchochase.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/transitionmetalsolns.jpg

but for some reason it is showing up in the source code of the displayed page as:

    <img src="http://ohms.ranchochase.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/transitionmetalsolns.jpg" alt="2011 Summer Chemistry Camp" height="300">

Since 300px is the default size indicated in the blog index page settings it seems to be related.

    Hi Glenn,

Sorry, it was late. Yes the default size is set to be 300 – regardless of using the script or not. It was introduced so the pages had some formality to it. Are you using the blog template?

    Hi Andy,

Yes, I am using the blog template. I understand the appeal of consistent sizes but 300 pixels height takes up a lot of vertical space for an index page with 3 blog posts on it. Is there any way to reduce that or disable it?

    Thanks!

You can decrease the height in the DynamiX->Blog Settings-> Archive / Index Page Image Configuration. You can adjust the height and width there.

I have the same problem here…

In my blog I have a 2 sidebars page (left and right) so the actual width for the post image is around 410px…but if I set that in the blog options, but the actual image height is smaller than 300px, it shows up 300 px anyway looking distorted.

I need to post different sized pics but in the end what really matters is the width and not the height…

Is there a chance to set the width so the height adapts to it?

    Thanx in advance

    Hi CriZ,

What do you have set for the image height in Blog Settings?
