We are re-designing our website on a subdomain test site.
On the test site we installed You-theme and Visual Composer. On the live site we have an old Genesis theme.
Is there a way through database copy and/or inserting, to integrate the test site into our live site, once we installed both You theme as VC?
If not, what is the best way to migrate those adjusted pages from test site to live site?
Is it also possible to migrate the templates we made on the test site, into the live site?

The best option is to export the database from the test site and import it to the live site. Once done, you then copy the themes/ folder from the test site to the live site.
This is assuming that the test site is a complete replica of the live site and the live site was not updated while you are building the test site.
You can also use a “migration” plugin to help you easily clone both sites vice versa, or you can coordinate with your hosting provider as some offers migration services for free or with a fee.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you run into other issues.
Our webmaster has his doubts about your suggestion how to export the database from a test site and import it to our live site.
Obviously the database from the test site and the live site are not totally identical.
Frankly our webmaster finds it very disappointing, that a free page builder like Elementor has a template export function and a paid version page builder like VC hasn’t.
If you have any other means of integrating the changes made on the test site and share it with us, then we would be very happy. Like copy certain tables of the DB instead of the whole DB.
The suggestion was based on the assumption that you want to completely move/clone what you built on the test site to the live site. Exporting the database from the test then importing it to the live site will make sure all changes you did will get carried over to the live site.
Once done, you can move the themes and plugins you used on the test site to the live.
If you only made layout changes to Pages and you only want that moved and exclude the Posts, you can go to Tools > Export > then export your pages. You can apply filters to the export options so you have a more refined result.
You can also just login to your test site, edit the page that you want to move to the live site, switch the editor to ‘Text’ then manually copy it to your live site.
There are basically a lot of options to this, depending on what data you want to move, and your developer should be able to help you with it.
