    Hi,

I’m not too familiar with shortcodes yet, I’m wondering how this website http://churchmead.org/cm/ running Dynamix got the sidebar thing working where you can click “Online Resources” etc and it drops down to show more. I think this would help clean up our sidebar.  Also, is there any way within Dynamix to show Popular Posts on the sidebar? Every plugin I’ve tried is kinda junk for this… Here’s our site if it helps http://metalarcade.net/

Hi Jason, yes that’s the Accordion Shortcode.

So this is different than the accordion slideshow thing like I have on my home page, right? How do I implement this on my sidebar? One last thing, is there an easy way to display popular posts on the sidebar?

Also, I’m using the widget gallery for my Latest Reviews thing which you can see on my home page http://www.metalarcade.net

But when I change the picture dimensions, it doesn’t do anything. I want to make it the width of that sidebar, but changing the dimensions only works when making the image smaller than it already is

Use the shortcode generator to generate the accordion and then copy and paste the shortcode into a Text Widget.

I’ve tested on my server and it adheres to the width set in the widget settings. What exact value have you entered?

Ok I got that working, but it ended up not being really what I’m looking for. I found this page on the demo site http://dynamix.creativeworkz.co.uk/layouts/no-content-border/

and I like the slider gallery you have on the bottom. I’m thinking of making something similar, but with a title overlay and have it display on all post pages. For instance, at the moment I have an accordion slider on the home page, but it doesn’t appear on article pages. Is there a way to implement a gallery on all post pages? If I could get a gallery to display at the top of all posts showing popular posts, that would be awesome. I don’t know how to get it to display popular posts, though…

    Hi Jason,

Currently there is no options for popular posts ( only works off date, random, title or category currently ) – you would also have to embed the code into either the header.php or footer.php for it display on all pages. Once you have the shortcode that does that you want it to do, you can use it in either the header or footer, depending on where you want it.

If you create a shortcode, I’ll show you how to display it.
