When I create a post and use the shortcode generator to embed a single image…

    [imageeffect type="lightbox" align="alignleft" width="" height="200"  alt="La Vida Llena" url="/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/la-Vid-Llena-01940×380.jpg"  ]…

In the actaul Post this looks and functions perfect.  However If I create a "postgallery_slider" and use the standard posts to call up the images, title and text on a new page, I get unpredictible results with images coming up under the wrong posts and showing up in the wrong aspect ratios.  This also happens when I bring up post archive and view it by catigory see this image… www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-01.jpg.

    any ideas?

    Hi Sako,

I can see from the screenshot the theme is not installed correctly – see this page Installing DynamiX

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the response Andy, I will look at it but I am pretty sure it is installed correctly.  FYI, we are not using the child theme because we do not intend to change the CSS.  What is it that you recognize is wrong?  I appriciate your feeback!

if I use the post gallery image slider for all posts and set all of the images to the same size and aspect ratio (even single images), it seems to work fine…www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-02.jpg

I would think the "post archive" view… www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-01.jpg should be able to bring up any shortcode or any other iamge you call it up through standard posts just as you see it in the post regardless of what gallery slider, shortcode or size the image is right?

I think the problem has to do with the default blog settings. www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-03.jpg. Here under "post conent" thre is not an option to view the posts by "Excerpt + First Image".  This is causing conflict and viewing issues in the group slider and certain post views here is an example of the archive view of posts… www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-03.jpg.

If I have more than one image in a post this is the result I am getting in a Group Slider…www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-04.jpg  I am also getting weird results in the post archive view.  The post archive or a page that calls up posts based on a catigory…  www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-05.jpg. These post views work fine if you select “excerpt only” under  “Dynamix Blog / Archive Settings”… The only problem is now I lose the “first” image in my post.  It seems if there were a etting under “Dynamix Blog / Archive Settings” / “Post Content” for "Excerpt + First Image", one of the issues would be solved (possibly both).  It seems any shortcode used in a post is having weird results when using the post template and viewing them in groups based on catergory…

    Hi Sako,

There is still an issue with the install – I can see either a plugin is causing a major issue or the theme is installed incorrectly. The biggest clue to this is the fact that links are standard colour and have an underline. I think your issues will disappear when this is resolved.

Thanks Andy!, I am going to reinstall today. Is there a way to reinstall and still maintain all the pages, navigation and posts I created?

OK, through FTP, I deleted the current Dynamix and Dynamix-Child Folder, then I replaced them with the downloaded  v2.8.2 Dynamix and Dynamix-Child Folders.  Nothing has changed on the site aside from some formatting that was done to the header.  None of my issues have beed resolved and the links are still underlined as you saw before see screenshot www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-06.jpg

Off the top of my head – I would disable your coming soon plugin, run the site live for a bit,  and see if it's still affected. And that goes for all plugins.

I just updated the Theme to 2.8.8, I am running WordPress 3.3.1

I shut down all plugins that were causing the links to show up incorrectly and made the site live in hopes someone can help me. The links are working correctly now.

I am still having issues with how the posts read when called up by category (the same issue as above) and it was not a plugin issue.

    Short code Post

Go to http://ripplecg.com/?p=1596 (ABC Green Home – post with shortcode).  You will see at the bottom, a tab with images.  Fyi, each image in the post has a unique ID. Now, click on the “Case Studies posts (w/ shortcode archive}” link to the right.  This brings up the archive for all of the case study posts.  You will notice a few things here.  One, the ABC Green Home post is showing the bottom image of a hidden tab in the post view (I don’t get this).  Two, go to this link…http://ripplecg.com/?page_id=1785  you will see the same “ABC Green home “ bottom image getting pulled up in the slider named “test image post 5”. Three, go to  the “NBC Universal Post” http://ripplecg.com/?p=1683.  Here you will notice a video being pulled from YouTube – why isn’t this video showing up in the archive view http://ripplecg.com/?cat=35? FYI, I have "Excerpt + First Image / Custom Image” in the Dynamix Blog settings selected.

    Non Shortcode Post

I did an experiment using the “image / video source” option in the post to call up the posts first image.  You can see the result here…http://ripplecg.com/?cat=39 .  One, it seems you can only view images (not any type gallery or video). Two, you will notice the image at the top is centered.  Is there are way to control the size and justification of the image outside of the Dynamix Blog settings? Three, I am calling up a video from youtube using the “URL of video file” tab and it is not showing here http://ripplecg.com/?p=1772.

    Hi Sako,

Please try keeping support questions to here, otherwise duplicates are created and it gets confusing. Thanks

    Shortcode Post

I’m not sure what you mean by hidden tab? With regards to the video, it will only pull in images and not videos.

    Non Shortcode Post

To have the video displaying you will need to change the Post -> Additional Settings -> Embed Video to YouTube.

That’s the only place to set the sizes of Archive and Single Post Images/Videos. It’s done like that for continuity – just set a height value and the width will automatically calculate.

Sorry Andy, I didn’t know other forums were connected to this one.

What I mean by hidden tab:  go to http://ripplecg.com/?p=1596 and go to the bottom of the post.  You will see 2 tabs.  One tab, “See Ripple in GHB Magazine” is hidden.  Click on that tab and you will see the image that is coming up in the page view and archive view of all case study posts… http://ripplecg.com/?page_id=1746.  Look at the “ABC Green Home” post and take note of the image.  I don’t understand why this image is showing up because it is not the first image.  Also, there are missing images from other posts on this page.  Under the “Blog Setting” I have the “Post Content” set to “Excerpt + First / Custom Image”.

I changed the setting to the video as suggested.  Here are my settings in the post… http://www@ripplecg.com/ripple_samples/misc/post-issue-06.jpg .  I am trying to pull the video in from YouTube so I do not leave my site.  It seems the only way to do this is through shortcode http://ripplecg.com/?p=1683, but the image will not show up in the page or archive view…http://ripplecg.com/?page_id=1746.  How did you get this page to work with shortcode… http://themeforest.net/item/dynamix-premium-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/113901?

That’s the only place to set the sizes of Archive and Single Post Images/Videos.” Are you referring to the Blog Settings”?

I see what you mean, but is that image set in the URL of image file or post thumbnail?

The preivew link you sent goes to the home page? Try removing the frame and then copy the URL.

Yes I mean the Blog Settings.
