    I would like to change the color of the links located in my site’s page content without changing the color of the header or footer links. When I look through the style.css file, I cannot find any settings for link color. Am I missing something? My site is http://www.graduatemedicaleducation.org and it is using the DynamiX WordPress theme.

    Hi Kristina,

    Have you considered upgrading to the latest version, you can customize skins live. See here for example:

    Andy, isn’t it possible to edit link color without upgrading? I use this theme at work, and would like to just use the materials that have already been purchased. Also, I noticed in the tutorials you linked to that upgrading can cause some things to change–I’m not ready for all that upheaval. I just want to learn how to work with what I’ve already got. Thanks, -Kristina.

    Kristina, upgrades are free! I created these easy to use options so that you do not have to touch CSS to change settings. What version of the theme are you using? Also, you’re missing the DynamiX/style.php file on your server, this is probably why you’re having issues changing the colour. Please upload that missing file.

    Do you have a Skin Settings page in the admin under the DynamiX menu?

    Andy,
    I do have a style.php file on my server. I am uncomfortable upgrading the theme, because I read that some people are having compatibility issues with their tabs and accordion after the upgrade… just not ready for that headache right now. In the style.php file on the server, (BTW I can access this file from the remote WordPress Backend of the site), I see this code, but when I change it, nothing happens. The colors in this code also don’t really correspond to the link colors at http://www.graduatemedicaleducation.org. In the Skin Settings page in the admin, the link color is set to #13d0ed, a teal green color, but the links on the pages appear as dark blue and dark purple. Why is this?

    if(LINKCOLOR) {
    $linkcol = LINKCOLOR;
    } else {
    if($outskin==”two”) {
    $linkcol=”#2e52de”;
    } elseif($outskin==”four”) {
    $linkcol=”008ec9″;
    } elseif($outskin==”five”) {
    $linkcol=”13d700″;
    } elseif($outskin==”six”) {

    $linkcol=”4e342a”;
    } else {
    $linkcol=”1594d9″;
    }
    }

    $linkhov = LINKHOVER;

    Hi,

    The server is forbidding the access of the file ( I can see it on the browser console ) and therefore not loading it, hence why the colors aren’t showing. Can you ask your hosting as to why it has forbidden access to that particular file.
