    Hi again,

Sorry for all the questions. I just updated the theme today and now the video background for my home page header is not working properly. It is simply a vimeo link and nothing has changed with the video.

Please help! (link to site: https://augustschell.com/wordpress-test/)

    Hi @nschell05

Can you please send over your site’s login credentials so we can personally test and check on this further from our end?

    Hi @nschell05

Are you referring to this video (http://tinypic.com/r/rhuu/9) on your homepage? If yes, that background video is actually working.

Can you please check again and confirm?

    Hi –

Yes that is the video I’m referring to but before the update it covered the entirety of the row background and not just a fraction of it.
It looked like this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56UknOFsmRQ&t=4s — after the update it is only in the top middle portion.

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Nikki

    Hi @nschell05

    Thanks for elaborating.

Can you please give us permission to disable all your plugins to check if any of them is causing this?

    Hi –

Yes, I already tried this but you are welcome to try again.

    Hi @nschell05

I did try it and the issue persists. The weird thing is I do not see any CSS that is controlling the dimension of the video.

Can you please try to reinstall a fresh copy of the YOU theme to your site? If the issue will persist, I will forward this to the developer to doublecheck.

    Thanks!

    Hi there!

I got it to work, still not sure what the bug is but I re-installed the old version of You and it’s fine. I think it’s an issue with the updated version.

However, my other issue still was not fixed by this – all my links that should open in new tabs are not opening in new tabs. Any help there?

Thanks so much for your assistance.

    Best,
    Nikki

Glad to know you were able to fix the issue. There has been no other reports of the same issue from customers who updated to the new version.

For the links, can you please send us sample pages with links that should open in a new tab?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Very weird. I don’t have any idea why it was happening.

Sure – the homepage has 6 links in the second row that should all open in new tabs but do not.

Also the social icons in the footer (all pages) should open in new tabs but do not.

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I personally checked it and I do see the issue. The code target="_blank" appears on Visual Composer but for some reason, it does not appear on the front-end.

I copied the same code from the list element you added to our test page and it works without any issues, so it looks like this is again isolated to your site.

I reinstalled Visual Composer to no avail.

Can you please give us permission to disable the plugins again so we can test this?

    Thanks!

    Hi –

Sure, please go ahead with disabling the plugins. I’m so perplexed. I really appreciate the help!

    Hi @nschell05

I have just disabled all your plugins and the links are all working now. Kindly reactivate the plugins one by one to check which of those plugins is causing the issue.

    Hi!

Thank you so much – I’ve got it fixed.

One last issue that I’m running into – on the blog pages (example: https://augustschell.com/wordpress-test/2017/01/06/vmware-demo/) the arrows for the previous and next posts should be arrows but they are showing as boxes with question marks in them. I can’t figure out how to simply removed those.

Any help would be appreciated – I really appreciate all your help so far.

    Best,
    Nikki
