I wanted to create a side bar with sub-navigation menu options for the parent navigation name that it comes under. I noticed that with the side bar in widgets, I can only create one menu specific to the side bar. Is there an alternative to this?
or- would I have to include columns in each page with the shortcodes and then list out the sub-navigation for each parent navigation?
my only concern with that would be that I would have to include everything in my navigation and sub-navigation, instead of targeting a single tab and its sub-navigation content….
It's probably a bad example….but you see how the sidebar and its content strictly outlines the subnavigation for quality assurance?
I just wanted to know if there was a way to do that. If not its still an awsome template with amazing features….so no biggie.
if i understand correctly, you want different sub nav for each page?
if thats the case, dynamix lets you set any qty of sidebars you want say 4 for instance, create a diffrent custom menu for each page you want then place a custom menu widget in each sidebar slot in appearance-widgets,then on each page specify the sidebar you want displayed in the sidebar configuration meta box.
the last part is the only part I can't seem to figure it out. It has sidebar1 and sidebar2. I added 4 menus to sidebar1 under widgets. Then when I go into my page "about page" and I go to sidebar configurations I get various options for where I want sidebar1 and sidebar2 and if I want a border or not. But there is no configuration to which menu I want to use…so all 4 menus show on the about page
…unless I'm missing it, which could possibly be.
you should have created a diferent menu for each page in custom menu's,then you place a different custom menu widget in each sidebar under appearance/widgets,when you create/edit the page select the sidebar number you want shown. 🙂
i think what you may have not done is go into dynamix/options and entered the qty of sidebars required(say 4 for example),when you do that you should have sidebars 1,2,3,4 in appearance/widgets.place a custom menu widget in each one, making sure to select a different menu for each, then on the pages you should be able to select in sidebar 1's or 2's dropdown, sidebar 1,2,3 or 4 .
hope that helped, if not pm me your log in details and i can help set it up.(last resort)
