    Hi there,

Don’t know if we can put our url there but if it’s not allowed, you’re welcome to remove my link.

I use “You” theme and I have an issue on this page : https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium on which there’s a specific plugin called “WP Simple Pay Pro for Stripe – Subscriptions Add-on”.

When I run a google insight on this page : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?hl=fr&url=https%3A%2F%2Flesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr%2Fpremium my website needs 15 seconds to load IF the plugin is on and only 2 seconds when it’s off. I know for sure the ONLY thing which changes is THIS plugin. Nothing else changes, I’ve done a lot of tests.

I’ve just put their short codes in my pricing table.

I’ve contacted the developers of this plugin and they told me to “Reach out to the theme developer and explain the situation. Usually they can resolve the issue or point you in the right direction.” and also “Note: If your theme is using a visual composer. It is likely that it alters the way the WordPress pages and post are created, then you may very well have issues using it with our plugin or others that use shortcodes. Our plugin is written to work with WordPress themes and plugins that follow WordPress best coding standards. Sometimes placing the shortcodes outside of the visual composer in the editor can resolve the issue.”

Do you have any tips on how to decrease my loading time ? 🙂

    Hi @napape

The best option to trace the issue would be to check out your PHP access and error logs. This way you can trace the server processes while the plugin is on and off.

Another way to isolate the issue would be to use another theme then test the site again using Page Insights with and without the plugin. If the same behavior is evident, then this is possibly an issue with the plugin or the server and not the theme at all.

You can also try to increase your site’s PHP Memory to 256M. You can contact your hosting provider on how to do it.

    Thanks!

    Thank you sir.

I’ve tested with another theme and it works just fine.
I’ve tested to increase my pHP memory (through php.ini + htcacces + wp-config.php ) and I think my host does not allow that.

What’s my next step ? Could it be to use another pricing table than yours ? Do you think putting the shortcode in another Pricing table would/can fix this issue ?

    Hi @napape

Is the issue only happening on this page? I tested the site on Pingdom and the biggest issue is the “wait time” on the server and not any issue with the theme codes/files.

Can you please send over your login credentials so I can run the tests with and without the theme?

You should be able to use any pricing table you’d prefer but we’re not sure if the code will work with other plugins.

    Thanks!

    Hi @napape

Our apologies for the delayed reply.

I think the main issue is with the server not able to easily process the codes based on these 2 results:

    https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/dT6jA6/https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium – TURNED ON
    https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cIUSHW/https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium – TURNED OFF

Scroll down to File Requests and you will see the first hop has a really long Wait Time when the plugin is turned on.

Also, I actually turned on and off ‘WP Simple Pay Pro for Stripe’ and not ‘WP Simple Pay Pro for Stripe – Subscriptions Add-on’.

As I checked, you are hosted with 1&1. Please coordinate with their support team to look into the server’s PHP logs and have them increase the PHP memory (I think they do it via php.ini).

    Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. Actually I called them a few minutes after your answer and they increased my memory from 600Mb to 2Gb (didn’t even know that was possible). But it seems like nothing has changed yet even though everything is set up fine. :'(

    Hi @napape

It’s possible to increase PHP Memory to that value only if you have a lot of memory on the server too and only possible if you are on a VPS. I have a hosting account with 1and1, shared hosting plan, and I can’t increase the PHP memory that much.

Can you please try to use another pricing table plugin then test the page’s speed again with and without the Stripe plugin?

    Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I confirm that my RAM( which is the french word for volatile memory) is 2 Go.

I’ve tried with another pricing table and nothing changes

I’ve tried to make another page with only 1 stripe button on it and it appears to divide by more than 3 the loading time .
https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium-2 needs 4 seconds to load
https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium needs 14 seconds to load

    Any further tips ?

P.S. i also have a question which has nothing to do with that . Is there a way to have a frame around one of the button of the menu ? (like the pic) frame around menu

I’ve just tried to remove the bottom row of my page therefore deleting 1 pricing table (which was at the end of the page) and 3 buttons.

And nothing changes about the loading time 😛 (which is weird compared to what i’ve said the post before)

    Hi @napape

Can you please give me permission to switch themes from my end? I will test the speed with the plugin enabled using TwentySeventeen theme, with and without Visual Composer.

Regarding the menu, the image you attached is broken, do you mean you want a border around one of the menu items? If yes, it is possible. All you need to do is add a CSS class to the menu item via Appearance > Menus then use the class to apply specific CSS for border for it.

    Hi @napape

I enabled the ‘Twenty Fifteen’ theme and the load time is still bad at 7 seconds
    https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/bsMRdw/https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/premium

This points the issue to either Visual composer or your hosting server and not the theme.

I created a new page using the Classic Editor and not Visual Composer and the load tim is still bad:
    https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cuDn9k/https://lesvoyagespaschersdeleo.fr/testing-plugin

It looks like the issue is with 1&1’s server based on the tests that I did.
