Twitter have deprecated version 1.0 of their API and therefore the Twitter Feed no longer works. The solution is as follows:

    Download: http://help.themeva.com/tmp/twitter.fix.zip

    Replace:

    DynamiX/lib/inc/twitter.php

    With:

twitter.php ( found in the zip file. )

    Replace:

    DynamiX/js/twitter.feed.min.js

    With:

twitter.feed.min.js ( found in the zip file. )

    Add:

    twitteroauth folder to DynamiX/lib/inc/ directory.

    DynamiX 2.x

Use this version of the twitter.php file, replacing:

    DynamiX/lib/inc/twitter.php

    With this file:

    http://help.themeva.com/tmp/dynamix-twitter.php.zip

    Any issues, please post below.

    Hi James,

You’re using an older version of DynamiX and the fix above was designed for 3.0 +

Replace DynamiX/lib/inc/twitter.php with this file below:

    http://help.themeva.com/tmp/twitter.php.zip

No worries, I know tell me about it. I can’t believe you have to go through all that authorisation to retrieve a few tweets. Oh well, all done until the next time they change it 😉

Hey Andy, I did as told, still no tweets…can you take a look?

I can’t believe that Twitter constantly changes this stuff, don’t they realize how many websites they’re affecting? You’d think they’d want as many sites able to show off their service as possible, but I guess that would be too logical.

HEEEELLLLLPP the 2.0 Twitter fix has still not worked, are the consumer keys specific to the twitter user in the code? or are they generic. I cant believe Twitter sometimes, what idiots to not deprecate this without some form of back link. Andy any help or information you can give to help re-instate our 2.0 dynamix twitter feed would be most welcome. Cheers

Fixed, 2.0 users also need to copy the twitter.feed.min.js to JS as it didn’t exist. Apologies, all working again, until Twitter changes something stupid. Cheers.

@jamessavino1 I’ve updated the dynamix 2.x file above, this should definitely work now: http://help.themeva.com/tmp/dynamix-twitter.php.zip

@cjturnpike – I’m not sure why you didn’t have that file on your server, but as the instructions above state, you have to replace that file anyway, it’s always been with 3.x onwards and your tweets would have never worked without it.

Thank you. Changes work perfectly. 🙂

I’m at a loss here as to what you mean by replace this with this. Meaning how do I even replace stuff? LOL – I only know how to install a theme – not sure I know exactly how to install just a file to a theme. Is there documentation for novices such as myself? I’ve chosen not to upgrade to the 3.X theme as there are too many changes I would have to make to get my site to look exactly as it does today so unless I have to upgrade I plan never to do so. But I do want my twitter feed to work again *LOL*

    Anyway, your instructions state to

Use this version of the twitter.php file, replacing:

    DynamiX/lib/inc/twitter.php

    With this file:

    http://help.themeva.com/tmp/dynamix-twitter.php.zip

Where do I go to do the replacing of the file? I have downloaded the http://help.themeva.com/tmp/dynamix-twitter.php.zip

I just have no idea what to do now that I have done that download. My site address is http://JamesWantsToKnowYou.com

Help this dummy out! LOL 🙂

    Thanks!
    James

    Hi James,

I’m going to release the new version in the next day or so, if you can hang on, the new version will resolve this for you?

Ideally, you need FTP access to do the above, however, if you’re not familiar with that, it’s probably not worth it.

    Hi Andy-

Great! When you say, “new version” you mean the new version of the file or the new version of the theme? I ask because I don’t want to upgrade the theme as that will require me to do a lot more work than what I am looking to do. I love my site just as it is right now (the old theme) except now I want the twitter feed back. So I’m hoping when you say “the new version” you mean the new file version that I need to frp. Let me know…

    Thanks!
    James
