    Hi,

I would like to update my Dynamix theme, but does that mean, that all my custom settings will be gone again? As with the last update? All my sidebars were gone then and the my colours too. Sorry, but I don’t want to work again on my design, when updating the theme!

    Kind regards,
    Florian

    Hi Florian,

It depends where you have added custom code. If you have added it via Appearance > Theme Options > Customize > Customization then you will be fine. If you have added CSS code directly to the core theme files, you will loose it.

All of your Theme Options will be saved across and you shouldn’t need to re-select sidebars as before it was a major update but now you are on DynamiX 3.+ there will only be small changes to the theme and you should be able to update without any hassle.

I recommend updating using the Envato plugin, described here.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

that’s good news, since I have nothing edited inside the css.
    Thanks!
    Florian
