I downloaded epix a year ago-I’d like to update it but have been unable to do so as I do not want to uninstall epix on my site. I would like to download the updated theme and instal thru the admin panel. can I do this? Where do I download the latest version?
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,

You download the latest version of your ThemeForest account – i.e http://themeforest.net/downloads.

For updating the theme, please see the guide here: http://themeva.com/docs/epix/theme-installation-updating/

Thanks Andy, I’ve read the guide, its this I don’t follow….

“You may want to consider a ‘maintenance‘ plugin whilst you make the change over.”

What’s a maintenance plugin? There isn’t much of an explanation on how to go that route here. I would prefer that as I don’t want to uninstall Epix and install the updater plug in, I can envision that could be a nightmare.

Last question I don’t follow what you wrote here….
“You download the latest version of your ThemeForest account”…I’d just like to download the latest version of my theme, the old way and install it into wordpress-can I do that?

    Thanks

    Hi Peter,

They’re plugins that you use whilst you carry out maintenance on your site. You can add one via WP Admin > Plugins > Add New and search for maintenance.

Yes you can, as long as your server allows you to upload that file size. However, you’ll have to remove your current version of the theme.

No settings will be affected. As long as you haven’t modified the theme files, this will work fine.
