today we upgraded from v4.3 to v5 .. we try to stay up-to-date for security reasons.
We had one minor and have one bigger issue:
the Logo on the top was no longer aligned (suddenly was on the left, we had to ‘customize’ to set an alignment to center)
the Chatbar disappeared – this is a major inconvenience for 2,900 users.
We use ArrowChat.com, which brings up a bar at the bottom of the page. The chat runs on our server. The bar no longer appears.
We did some page source checking on our site at http://Scaffies.NL
but we could not find any obvious conflicts or so.
Any idea what might have changed in v5 to cause this – and, more importantly, how to fix it?

There doesn’t appear to be any reference to that plugin in the source code. Is it a plugin or a script you’ve placed in. Have you tested to see if no other plugins are affecting this and have you cleared the cache?
If that’s all okay, please post your WP login details and I’ll try to take a look for you over the weekend.

Yes we cleared the cache, and this is the only change we have made, which immediately removed the chat bar.
ArrowChat is not installed like other plugin’s, it uses its own install script, and resides in the scaffies.nl/wordpress directory
A previous theme apdate (to v4.3) did not affect the chat bar (if this helps with the diagnosis)

we are keeping a summary here (mostly to keep the users apdated) – maybe it helps as a reference:
The issue was probably due to the script was placed into the Header.php and Footer.php files. However, when the theme was updated, the scripts were removed.
I’ve now placed them into:
Appearance > Theme Options > Header > Tracking Code ( Header code )
YES, we just saw the chat bar is back!
