    Hi there,

I’m battling to get a video to display in the stage area.

The page content drops down as if the video is there & if I enable auto play, you can hear the audio, but the video itself will not display.

If I change the gallery to ‘grid’, it displays & plays, but with a ‘glitch’ in the display.

I’m using the JW player option, but I’ve also tried with the Youtube embed & it’s also not working.

Here’s the link to the page:

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi Jamey,

Which JW player are you using? The plugin or the files? I cannot seem to locate your video when looking into the code on your site. Have you tried adding the video into another page without a stage gallery?

Please let me know and I will look into this further for you.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the quick response!

I’m using the “JW player 6 plugin for WordPress” & I’ve just created this page with the video embedded via the visual composer shortcode:

    http://mongodesign.com/test3/test-video/

Thanks for looking into this for me – love the flexibility of this them & really hoping I can get a full width video ‘stage’!

    Kindest regards,

    Hi Jamey,

Hmm, it looks like you are doing everything correctly, could you please provide me with your login details so I can take a look at the stage gallery settings?

Please also set your reply to private.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

    Hi Jamey,

This will take a bit more digging, I will let Andy ( Theme Creator ) know about this and see if he can look into it also.

Sorry for the delay in an answer.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

    Thanks Tom,

I’ve duplicated the site at http://ebonylifetv.com – it was my hope that the video issue was due to a wordpress installation glitch, but on the fresh installation it’s still not working.

If you’d like to check it out you’ll need to bypass the ‘coming soon’ page with this url: http://ebonylifetv.com/preview

Thanks to you & Andy for looking into it!

    Kindest regards,
    Jamey

    Update: Things just got weirder…

I’ve managed to get it working – you can check it out on this page: http://ebonylifetv.com/about/ (again, via the url: http://ebonylifetv.com/preview ).

It works, on condition that the ‘stage’ gallery is drawing from two separate ‘Slide Sets’ – I have one slide set with a single slide set up to show a JW player & a second slide set with a single slide set up to show a YouTube embed.

As you can see, they’re both working now, but if you take away either one (i.e. have only one slide set, with one slide), the whole thing fails to display…

Hope that helps Andy identify where the bug is!

    Kindest regards,
    Jamey

    Hi Jamey,

Unfortunately the slider is meant to have more than one slide in – can you set it back to one slide again and I’ll see what we can use to force it to display.

    Hi Andy,

    So sorry for the delay!!

The slider is still set up with one slide here at:
    http://mongodesign.com/test3/about2/

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!

    Hi Jamey,

I’ve added a bit of CSS for you, now it displays with just the one slide. If you add more slides, you’ll have to remove this line from Custom CSS:

    #main-stage .panel {display:block !important;}

    Hi Andy,

Thanks so much for the code above – it sorted out the stage video perfectly!!

Unfortunately I now have another VERY strange couple of bugs:

I’m seeing the same behaviour with two elements; the block quote & the group galley shortcodes.

They load correctly when a page loads/is refreshed, but quickly disappear!?

With the blockquotes, it’s the closing ” that disappears just after page load & with the Group Gallery, it seems to work in reverse?!
For a spit second, as the page loads, it’s visible, but then it ‘closes’ – in a reversal of the smooth ‘opening’ animation that it should display.

At first, I noticed there was no gallery ID, so I updated the theme & then replaced the mapper.php file as outlined in this post:
    http://help.themeva.com/groups/dynamix-support/forum/topic/problem-with-galleries/page/2/

Even though that’s enabled the group ID’s, it hasn’t fixed the loading issues?

You can see both the blockquotes & a group galley working incorrectly on this page:
    http://ebonylifetv.com/preview

As before, the /preview suffix will get you past the maintenance plugin in order to view the page.

    Thanks in advance!

    Update: It just got weirder…

I just checked the site in Firefox (I work in Safari on Mountain Lion) & the group gallery is working…

So I cleared my cache on safari thinking that was the problem – unfortunately not – so it must be a safari problem then?

Either way, the closing ” still don’t show up in either browser, but they flash for a second when the page first loads, before disappearing… very weird!

    Hi Andy,

I’ve got the group gallery working – it came down to it needing more than one slide set again,
(although it was a bit temperamental when I added each video as it’s own slide set?! In the end I created two slide sets & divided the videos between them).

The last, somewhat silly thing, is the missing ” after the block quote short code…

I see it for a split second when the page loads, but then it disappears.

I can ‘see’ it when using Firebug – so it’s definitely there, just not visible for some reason?!

    Hi Jamey,

The reason why the blockquotes are not working is because you cannot use h4 tags within a blockquote tag. You are using Cufon fonts and they get turned into images which is bad for load speed too.
To make the font size larger, you can add an Extra Class Name of ‘large-text’ to adjust the font size. To do this, edit your page > Click the edit button of the column your blockquotes are in > Add in the Extra Class Name > Save and preview.

The group slider is working correctly. It has to load each video into the gallery each time you click the next button so they do not carry on playing when the next slide has been clicked.

    Hope that helps.

    Kind regards,
    Tom
