I want to upload my images for blog posts (pages) exactly the size they are displayed on the page. What is the width of the content area on pages with no sidebar (first option of page layout). Seems to be about 835 px, but I am not sure.

    Hi,

It is 859px wide including the padding of the page.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

Hi Tom, thank you. I am still not sure about the best size for my blog post pictures. Where can I find the size of the padding or how wide is it excluding the padding?

What about resizing? Isn’t it a loss of quality if I upload bigger pictures that are being resized? What about sharpening and grain? I sharpen my images and add grain according to the final resolution. Thanks again for your support.

    Hi,

You can use the inspect element tool within your browser to find out all of the dimensions. You can view the comprehensive Custom CSS screencast here, this will give you more information on how to customize elements and use inspect element.

You should not loose any quality when the images are automatically resized.

    Kind regards,
    Tom
