    Hi! I’m playing with creating a grid gallery on my homepage and wonder if it’s possible to change:

    1. the opacity of the rollover block that the text sits in?
    2. the size of the font thats in the overlay text box?

    If it’s possible, can are we looking at creating custom CSS and inputting it in the gallery ‘CSS classes’ field? Or am I missing something on the customizer or in a theme option?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,

    Yes this is possible to do but it will require custom CSS as they are not standard theme options. You can view the comprehensive Custom CSS screencast here, this will give you more information on how to customize elements. On the other hand, you can request customizations through the customization forum here.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

    Hey Tom! Thanks as ever for your response amigo.

    I watched the Custom CSS screencast and found the following CSS to work for changing the font size & opacity of Grid Gallery overlays:

    .caption.title h3 {
    font-size: 14px !important;
    padding: 5px 15px;
    margin: 0;
    font-weight: 100 !important;
    }

    .skinset-main.nv-skin {
    background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7) !important;
    }

    Just thought I’d post here in case anyone else here finds the Custom CSS of use.

    I need to do the same thing, where would I add this code to change the size of title overlays?
    Thanks,

    Hi Paul,

    Any custom CSS can be placed into Appearance > Theme Options > Customize > Custom CSS.

    I hope that helps?

    I did add this and see no change, I changed the font size to even smaller just to see if anything is affected, and nothing changes. Andy, could you possibly help me out by telling me how to edit the font size of the title overlay? As you can see on this page, eg. http://wangjingwei.org/his-ideas-en/ it’s huge.

    Hi Paul,

    I’ve changed the code slightly for you and now it works.
