    Thanks again Andy.

I realize my way of making theses changes isn’t orthodox, but it works for me. It takes just a couple of minutes to apply changes again after updates.

Now if only I could get the box areas of the contact form and the comment form to change color. The outlines are very hard to see against a white background. I know how to change the background color to make the white boxes stand out more, but I’d rather do it the other way around to keep my white background consistent on all pages.

Can you tell me where I can go to change the color of the form boxes? (contact + comment)

    Best wishes,
    Catherine

I was looking for that opacity slider, but couldn’t find it. You have to scroll down a bit to have it show up. Brilliant, this will be a great help!

    And the CSS worked.

    Thanks so much Andy!

I wrote my daughter to ask her how the menu was showing up on her iPad with changes I had made. The combo between your solution and mine didn’t work. You were right, I really needed to enter the # symbol instead if URL. Only consequence : you can’t access that page anymore through the menu, but I can live with that.

    Hello Andy,

Okay, thanks to your explanations, I think I resolved the menu issue. I’ll have to check on my daughter’s iPad tonight, but those new settings make sence (thought I chose to enter a URL instead of the # symbol because I actually want the link page to be accessible).

About the hoover effect, I use it on almost all the pages I’ve created, starting with the homepage “MES CRÉATIONS”. For example, on a computer, when you hoover over the images of the grid, the images zoom slightly and the names of each portfolio category show-up. On an iPad, the page is much less comprehensible without those words. And this is the way I’ve built the entire site to navigate from one portfolio to the other…

To help me better accomodate the changes between compter & iPad layout, can you explain how I can modify the opacity of the color of a text area? I don’t want to make the background completely transparent, I want to control the level (%) of opacity. How can I do that?

Also, how can I eliminate the “Categories” from showing up on the blog posts?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your response. We’re making progress!

Using smaller images for the logo did resolve my huge logo issue, which is great.

Now, I still can’t figure out why the menu still isn’t allowing to open-up the sublevel like on the test demo site. I configured the general & header options identically, except for the search button which I don’t want. If you visit my site on an iPad, you’ll see that it’s impossible to access the pages found under “MES CRÉATIONS”, while it is possible to access the submenu items of the demo site content (emmaboudou.com/test).

About the hoover issue. What I notice is that the same problem I am having is also happening on the demo site. What I mean is that the zoom effect & the text that appears when you scroll over an image with the mouse on a computer doesn’t show up at all on an iPad, making important information for the comprehension of the site impossible to see on an iPad. So if I understand correctly, I have two choices : make the text visible over the image and forget about the nifty hoover effect, or live with the fact the text isn’t visible on iPad…

With this theme, it is definitely also very important to take into account the major differences between the way certain things show up on a computer vs on an iPad. Take this page as an example : http://emmaboudou.com/art/voyage-andalousie-maroc/ On a computer, the text area appears nicely on the right of the image, allowing us to see the girl’s face. On the iPad, the text area completely covers the girl’s face. 🙁

Can you explain how I can modify the opacity of the color of a text area? This might help me with the issue of the girl’s face in the previous example.

    Thank you for your time,
    C.

    Hi Andy,

Isn’t there a .php page I could access via my Cpanel where I could make the changes directly? This would be much easier for me. Also I could set the desired height if the message box this way.

    Thanks

    Hello Andy,

You say that’s how it’s supposed to display?? How incredibly dissapointing!

I can accept a certain degree of stacking, but this is ridiculous! None of the hoover fonctions show up, leaving the site totally incomprehensible on iPad. 🙁

The demo site online shows up much, much better on iPad than mine. For one, the menu on the demo test site displays properly, which isn’t the case here. And on some of the demo test site pages, the grid gallery appears like a real grid, not single file images like on mine.

Had I known this theme would end up looking so bad on iPad, I never would have spent the money, nor the time, building this site with epix.

I don’t mean to offend. I’m just really dissapointed and utterly discouraged.

Here’s a link to an iPad scrren shot : http://emmaboudou.com/art/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/IMG_2103.jpg

Every element shows up in a single narrow column. And the menu doesn’t work… 🙁

No problems at all today with the slide manager. I’m getting the hang of the order in which I must do things to get things to work! 🙂
Just thought I should let you know.

    Hi Andy,

Like a big dummy, I deleted this morning those image files I had uploaded last evening thinking I didn’t need them in my media library!!

I’ll ask my daughter to send me new ones…

The only 2 plugins I have installed are the two you suggested we install with the theme.

    Thank you Andy.

Though I’m not sure we are understanding each other correctly. It’s not always easy explaining with words how things are appearing and happening on the site…

Today, the slide manager is working properly. I hope I don’t have any more trouble with it.

I’m back with the screenshots. The following screenshots show how the main page of the site appears on an iPad :
